Welcome, Ramadhan! I thank God for being able to meet Ramadhan again. It's always a fancy thing for me to prepare food and drinks for break-fasting in the evening and I always love the Ramadhan vibe. There are always stalls selling snacks and fancy drinks nearby the housing complex I live at during Ramadhan month and people would swarm the area an hour and half before break-fasting to buy some food and drinks. As for me, I usually go to nearby supermarket and buy some snacks and cold drinks and eat them after finishing my break-fasting meal.
Waiting for the break-fasting time (the Maghrib adzan marks the time), I usually do something fun.. to make me oblivious to my own hunger and thirst. Or at least.. I sleep. Yeah, basically I do anything to make me forget the hunger and the thirst. Back then when I was in primary high school, I used to play online games with my big brother and friends. We walked to game café nearby my house and played for around three to five hours. Since the game café was actually my neighbor's house (and my brother and I had befriended the café administrator), it was common for me and my brother to ask the café administrator to pause the timer on my computer so my brother and I could go home, take a bath, and then come back to continue playing the game.
There was once a funny, stupid moment happened at the game café. It was Ramadhan month and I was fasting. My brother and I went to the café and rented two computers for around three to five hours. It was a very hot Sunday and the game made us really oblivious to not only our hunger and thirst but also the fact that we were fasting. The cubicle I rented was separated two or three cubicles away from my brother's so I had to pass three cubicles separating my cubicles and my brother's to see him.
The game was quite challenging and I ended up feeling tired (as well as dizzy since I had seen the monitor for hours). I walked out of my cubicle to the administrator desk, seeing what the administrator was doing. He was browsing pages about games and he looked tired as well. I noticed a large vending machine dispensing cold drinks and I just walked towards the machine and bought a coke. I walked to my cubicle afterwards and then walked to my brother's cubicle to see what he was doing, passing other cubicles while drinking my coke. My brother was there, playing his game and I watched him playing the game while finishing my coke. Knowing that my coke bottle was empty, I walked to return the bottle, just to realize that actually I was fasting and I forgot that I was fasting. I looked at the café administrator and he apparently didn't realize what was actually happening.
I ran back to my brother's cubicle and went crazy. He asked me what happened and I told him that I drank a coke. He ignored me at first but as he realized that it was Ramadhan month, he looked at me and laughed at me. I was afraid that I would break my fasting but my brother told me that I just forgot that I was fasting so it would be fine, as long as I continued fasting.
Shame on me. Now the internet users in the café knew that I drank a coke during fasting hours.
